Well let's play catch up... I haven't been posting as much as I should be. Sorry! Work has been crazy stressful... and time is flying by. We are haveing a great deal of fun watching Maddie grow up right in front of our eyes. It is something new everyday for her. We had a great christmas. Maddie got fish for christmas so we have to feed them twice a day... she loves to watch them! I am working on a new certification called CSCP Certified Supply Chain Professional. It is being offered through Apics, who I have my current CPIM certification through. I go to Chicago in March to take the test... so this is what has been taking the majority of my time. I have spent some time over at The FBZ forum, competing in contest and talking about sports. Check it out and sign up in the forums. Tell them M-Dub sent ya!

Well I will attempt to keep this updated more... and as always there will be more pictures of Maddie on the way!

I promise some more content coming up, it has just been so crazy around here. I went hunting this weekend, but we didn’t do very well. It is still so warm here. Hopefully we will see some colder weather and better duck hunting soon. We have been working on the house to get ready for my Mom, Sister, and Niece who will be coming to town for thanksgiving. They live in Indiana. We are really excited to see them! My wife got a new stove and a new dishwasher, that I had fun installing.

We had a good Halloween, and I have lots of pictures to share that will be coming within the week. I promise.

Is it really this close to the holiday season? Time is flying by. I have been swamped at work, still trying to catch up from my trip last week. New projects and new deadlines.

Went to the OU Baylor game last Saturday. We had a good time, and it was a great game. It is just a shame that we would have a close game against Baylor. I am just glad we got out with a win.

We took Maddie to the Pumpkin Patch Saturday, and she loved the petting zoo. She also enjoyed running through the hay maze.

OU Nebraska this weekend, along with all the Halloween hoopla. I really need to get some pics up soon. We will see.

Back in town

I had a great time in Kansas City. I am impressed with the city. It has a nice little feel to it. Arrowhead stadium was nice... the game was good... after the first half. The conference was very informative and gave me some great Ideas for work. We ate at some very good restaurants in Country Club Plaza. If you are ever there you have to try BAHA 600 (Mexican), BRIO (Italian), and Houston's (steakhouse).

So now I am back to work and trying to dig through the pile that is my desk. We have some sort of Halloween hay ride thing with the church group tonight and tomorrow my buddy Fish and I are off to see the Sooners beat up on Baylor.

Busy this week trying to get things done before I hit the road for a week. I am going to Kansas City for the big APICS Conference on Friday morning. I will be back in OKC next Wednesday night. It just so happens that the Sooners are playing in KC on Saturday... bonus. I already have my ticket. Boomer Sooner.

It should be fun, but mostly work and discovering new tools (toys) of the trade. I will be in the hotel at night so maybe there will be some good blogging with no wife and no Maddie around. I hate going out of town when she is this age(2). It seems like she grows so fast when I'm gone. Oh well, its only six days.

I love being the underdog. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain. However, Texas has everything to lose and everything to gain. So that said this should be a true shootout. I think that the Sooner Defense will hold the run focused Texas offense in check. The big question is how does Rhett Bomar react to the atmosphere in Big D. If Rhett can settle down quick enough and play like he knows he can we should be able to put some good drives together.

Look for some sweet play calling by both teams. I expect to see the reverse again, as well as the double screen pass… Bomar to Thompson to Wilson.

Will this be the last year in the Cotton Bowl? I hear the AD from Texas talking on the Sports Animal and he sounded like he was ready to move the game to a home and home series. IMO there is something great about the game in Dallas, to lose it would be a big loss. We are talking about 100 years of this game. Come on Dallas step up and fix that Cotton Bowl up.

Let us not forget that until Mack and the shorthorns beat us we still have the bragging rights. I will grant you that this is the best chance that Brown has and will have in a while, but there is something to say for the way that Stoops has Mack by the balls. You never know what is going to happen in the Cotton Bowl, so buckle up and get ready for a ride. No the sky is not falling Sooner fans!

If you watched the same game I did on Saturday evening, then you will have witnessed the light at the end of the tunnel as well. After a rocky start to the season, the Sooners are starting to mesh together and become a team right before our eyes. Rhett Bomar continued to be successful, and most importantly he protected the ball. Unfortunately Saturday Night's game did bring another injury to Adrian Peterson. Coach Stoops says he thinks AD will be fine and should play on Saturday in the Red River Shootout. Look for more rants on the RRS later in the week.

I am 2 and 1 on both NFL leagues. I am in 2nd place in College Pick em', and I am sucking it up in the Salary Cap Leauge. Pics of Maddie later today.

It looks like I may be making my way to more Hornets games than I had expected.

4000 tickets for each game will be $10 with another 3500 for $20 or less. That is a great deal for some NBA action. The Hornets and the NBA have really made the commitment to try and fill the ford center. I only hope that other Oklahomans will answer the call and buy up these tickets. Let's make a good showing for this city and this state.

We paid a one-cent sales tax for all of those years so that we could build a big league arena and now is our chance to put a big league team in that arena.

Review: "Criminal Minds" Series Premier

This show was absolutely incredible. I am a huge fan of drama television and I haven’t watched a show that made my heart jump like this one in a long time. I came in with the impressions that this would be another CSI knock-off, but was pleasantly surprised by the fresh angle the writers took in developing the first episode.

The cast of the show is what really makes it happen for me. The mix and the interaction came across flawless. Mandy Patinkin plays the role of Gideon who is an old pro recovering from a bout of depression caused by a previous case. Matthew Gubler plays Dr. Spencer Reid who is a young genius who is full of random facts that come in quite hand when profiling criminals. Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Lola Glaudini, and A.J. Cook round out the cast. The cast seems to have a natural interaction and it really works in the show.

Add in the fact that the plot of the show was absolutely intense, and you have yourself a real winner. Just when you thought it would go one way it went the other. The progression in the first episode was remarkable and the writers are to be commended for coming up with such a brilliant plot.

Criminal Minds is a must see. If you missed it this week, you should defiantly check it out next week. Let’s hope that they can keep it up and continue to bring fresh perspectives to criminal drama. It will air on Wednesdays at 9PM eastern.

OKC gets a chance…

Exciting news here in OKC today! We are going to be the 2005-2006 home of the New Orleans Hornets. It is a shame that it had to happen under such unfortunate circumstances. Our heart goes out to the many victims of Hurricane Katrina. The deal is only for one year, but it will give the OKC metro area a chance to prove that we are a big time market and very capable of supporting a NBA team.

Every team in the NBA will play at least one game at the Ford Center this year. I can’t wait to go see my pacers play and not have to make a trip somewhere else. The Hornets will play six games at LSU.

I hear that the ticket prices are supposed to be very reasonable, so I am looking forward to checking out some NBA games.

Last night was finale night for Big Brother 6 and Rock Star INXS. I don't really care who won Big Brother 6, as I quit caring after Howie was evicted. If you really must know Maggie won. Rock Star INXS was a bust in my mind as I never liked INXS anyway, and probably never will.

Good News for Apprentice fans. Tonight we can get a dose of The Apprentice: Martha Stewart style. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully it will be interesting enough to endure, and waste away some of those TV hours.

Well we went with the Vibe. I really like it. We were looking at the Corrola and the Toyota matrix caught our eye. Then when we looked at the Vibe we found out that they were the same car. That's right the Pontiac Vibe is the exact same car as the Toyota Matrix. Pontiac was much more willing to deal than the Toyota dealership, so we went with the Vibe. I was really happy with the deal we got and with the fact that the one we picked out was loaded. I still like the Corrola, but the one I really wanted was a little out of our range.

Random title day.

I've been a slacker when it comes to blogging for the last week or so. It's amazing how much more I am looking forward to the weekends now that football season is here. I sure hope that the Sooners can pull themselves out of the funk that they are in. I also hope it will be an interesting game.

Looking for cars last night and tonight. I drove a Toyota Corolla S and I really like that car. It gets between 36 and 44 mpg on the highway, and we all know that that is important. Now if I can get the wife to spring for it. Somehow I think there is a fight in store for me.

Colts and Sooners win!

All in all I can't complain about the results of the weekend. I didn't have time to watch the Colts play last night, but it seems that they took care of business pretty well. Slow start, but they got it going in the second half.

The Sooners on the other hand have some major work to do. They definitely answered some questions on the running game. The O-line proved that they can run block and AD (Adrian Peterson) did his thing, but he won't be able to carry the entire load all season. The Sooners have to find a passing game and have to find it fast. There are concerns that the O-line will have trouble with pass blocking after Bomar was sacked twice in the second half on Saturday. I feel confident after this week that the OU coaching staff is hard at work trying to answer some of the questions. Hopefully these young guys will start getting use to the surroundings and playing within the system and we will see some major improvement.

I love this time of year!

The weekend cometh

And I am pretty dern excited about that. September Teal season is here for the next two weekends! That is ducks for those of you who don't know. Cory and I are going to set out some decoy's Saturday morning and see if we can't harvest a few. Then add a big ole heapin' scoop of football on the side, both NCAA and NFL. Now that what I call a great weekend. I am beside myself.

Readjustment

I have been readjusting to life for the last couple of weeks. After the crazy resignation and then un-resignation thing, and then the wreck it has been quite hectic. They did finally decide to total my car, it will be late next week before I get paid on it, and then we can start the hunt for a new car. I bet you can guess what the number one consideration is when buying a new car these days. You got it… GAS MILEAGE! We are looking at the Toyota Corolla, Pontiac Vibe, Honda Civic, and maybe even a hybrid or two. Gas mileage is even more important as I drive about 25 miles each way to work everyday. Let me know what your experience is with any of these cars.

The job front is going pretty good. I was pretty much settled on the fact that I would be leaving, so this week and last have been focused on doing some serious long range planning now that I know I will be here for at least another year or two. The extra money helps with the focus on what needs to be done. I have two projects that I want to finish by then end of quarter four. Follow that up with a couple of big projects for Q1 and Q2 of next year. Hobby Lobby continues to grow, which means that we will continue to have plenty of work to do.

Rebuilding (understatment)

Okay so we all knew this would be a rebuilding year, but I don't think anyone expected the performance to be that poor. The Oklahoma Sooners started off the 2005 season with a loss to an unranked opponent Texas Christian. It does pain me to write that.

Even with the disappointment it was great to watch some college football. I love this time of year, and it will be interesting to see if the Sooners can prepare themselves to return to a BCS bowl within the next couple of years.

I think that Paul Thompson will retain the starting position for next week. He made some mistakes, but I wasn't impressed with Rhett Bomar either. There were some passes where you knew that if that had been Jason White throwing the ball it would have been a touchdown. You never know what you have until it's gone.

I am in utter disbelief over the situation in the city of New Orleans. I can't help but be reminded of the story of Sodom and Gamorah in the Bible. My thoughts and prayers are with the innocent of that city and I hope that they will find a way to make it.

My little brother was activated and is currently on his way to Louisiana, and I hope that our military can bring some control to the situation.

Please keep him and all of the Reserves in your prayers.

I got a huge raise yesterday and it was about time. I had another job offer and turned in my resignation, but my current employer would have none of it and then beat the heck out of that offer. I will tell the whole story later, I swear it is like straight out of a soap opera or something(maybe not).

BAD NEWS:

I rear-ended some idiot who decided to get in front of me and slam on his breaks when everyone else was going 70 on the interstate. I think I totaled my car, and I'm not feeling to great. I think I will be okay. I was thinking of a new car anyway.

The craziest week ever…

After Monday I promise to tell the complete story. I can just say that there is a big shake up on the horizon for my life. I have also been getting ready for the big B-day party for Maddie. Tomorrow is the day. The big 2! I can’t believe how fast she has grown, and I can’t believe how much I have changed. Sorry for the limited posting this week, maybe next week will be better.

ERR... I hate my job! (sometimes)

Today has been a challenge to my patience. Sometimes I really hate this job. Today has been extra-ordinarily stressful. I don't say much about work for some reason, but let me tell you it sucks today. Oh well, sometimes it is good. My problem is that I can not stand to be held back from doing what is best for the company. When I feel like someone is getting in the way of progress I take it too personally. I don't know why, but I buy into my projects and they become like an obsession for me. Wish I could give details, but I think that could be a risk. What do you think?

OU still hasn't named a starter at quarterback... I think it will be Paul Thompson.

What do you think about the recent death in the NFL. Doctor's have said that a man of Thomas Herrion's height should have weighed in at 210 pounds instead of the 310+ the he did at the time of his death. Is it healthy for a man to carry around that kind of weight even if it is mostly muscle? The topic is interesting to me as I am 6 foot 4 inches and around 300 pounds. Should the NFL take any action? What?

Cedric Benson still hasn't signed his contract. Could he go into next years draft?

Tiger takes his fifth tournament of the year in fine fashion on Sunday afternoon. I had a great lazy Sunday hanging with Maddie and watching golf. What do you think about Tiger leaving the PGA Championship before it was over. I think that he along with everyone else knew that there was no way the whole field was going to drop to two under. I think that the media convinced everyone of that possibility so that they could have a story. Reality was that there was no way for Tiger to end up in a playoff. That's my two cents.

Work is going to be crazy this week for several reasons. So I am off to pull my hair out! Oh yeah I don't have any...

No updates yesterday... that’s a first for about a month. Work has been ludicrous and I had to take a second job to raise some funds for the budget if you know what I mean. So today was supposed to be a relaxing day, then I looked out at the jungle that was my front yard you know the rest of that story. A wedding shower this afternoon followed by a shopping trip. The wife says I need new shoes, and that she is going to burn my old ones! Whatever!

Big Brother 6: 9 Lives for James

If you tuned into Tuesday nights episode of Big Brother 6 then you witnessed one of the biggest back-stabbings in the history of the show. It was enough to make a reality nut like me giddy. Everything you could ask for in a good drama was all wrapped up in one pretty little episode.

The many lies of Jenny confound the Sovereign Alliance as the sanctimonious Friendship Alliance show their true grit, deceiving, debasing and welching on their word to nominate James for eviction. Instead, they place Kaysar on the block after Rachel wins the Power of Veto in a coaster-toss competition and saves herself.

So Kaysar cuts a deal with Jennifer to put her in the HOH room, and she puts his tail up on the block. You could tell by watching that James knew for sure that he was going up. When Jennifer announced that she was nominating Kaysar instead, the look on James face was priceless. James has won the veto 3 or 4 times and now that he was all set up to be given the pass through the back door, he convinces everyone that Kaysar is more of a threat.

Do you think James will vote to evict Kasar or Janelle? Who goes? Who would you like to see win HOH for the next round?

I am pulling for James to win HOH. The squirming and positioning would be hilarious

This time last year it only took $15 to fill up my car(02 Grand Am). I know that Oklahoma is well below the national average, but this is getting a little ridiculous. I paid $2.39 a gallon this morning, my Mom in Indiana said it was up to $2.69 there yesterday.

Due to the aforementioned date night I missed Big Brother on Saturday night. I gather from my reading that Jennifer won the "pressure cooker" HOH competition. Something about a dead catfish and a martini bar?? She then proceeded to break her word to Kaysar and nominated two of his buddies Janelle and Rachel. There is talk about trying to take James out via the backdoor. I will be watching on Tuesday night.

Lefty wins his second major

For the second time in as many years Lefty wins a major tournament. In my opinion, there isn't a more deserving person on the tour. This is also his second career major win.

The PGA championship was postponed until this morning due to weather. It was getting really interesting on Sunday afternoon, as the field was dropping shots right and left. Tiger came in at two under and it began to look like the rest of the field might drop to that number before all was said and done. With some rest and completely different playing conditions it looks like that won't be the case. It should be fun!

Its been a while since the wife and I have had the opportunity to spend sometime together without Maddie. It was great. We decided to send Maddie to the parents house, order some takeout, and rent a movie. We ate Mexican food and watched Million Dollar Baby. I am still recovering from the impact of the movie. It was very thought provoking. Maybe there will be a review in the future.

Tiger made up a little ground today shooting four under. Lefty is still in the lead. We will see what happens tomorrow.

Big Brother 6 (week 6, episode 3)

Farewell to Sarah. For a moment we thought that she had a chance, but not so in the end. However, I did enjoy seeing Ivette sweet bullets, as she thought that she had been taken for a ride. Everyone took my advice and voted Kaysar back into the house. Sweet! We will see if he and James work things out or not. I don’t know what it is about me, but I am always pulling for the underdog. I would like to see James wreak some more havoc in the house before they finally get to him, which they inevitably will. The HOH competition was a cliff-hanger so we don’t know who won it yet. It was a great concept. The design was to see who can hang on to a button the longest with boxes that will release something every time someone drops off. The fist box Big Brother opened had flies. It was hilarious to watch Beau squirm around, what a wuss. Saturday night we find out who won Head of Household and who they will put up.

Sparks were flying as the house settled in on the fact that Howie put James and Sarah up for eviction. All they had to do was to ensure that James dosen’t get the power of veto, and their plan works perfectly. Freakin’ Idiots! James either through dumb luck or muscle pulls out the veto and stays another week. Ivette feeling that she is safe begins to piss other people off in the house and Howie sticks her up on the block. So there is an outside possibility that this week ends with James and Sarah still in the house. I think James wins HOH next week and the payback begins. Don’t forget to vote for Kaysar.

Has anybody asked Indian Tribal Councils if they are offended? I bet the only people offended are freshman college girls and liberal-progressive white people.

Here is my take on the deal, if "Indian" is an offensive mascot, than what about the "Cowboys". I mean isn't it the same thing. The wording of the ruling says that the NCAA is outlawing anything that is "Hostile or Abusive". In my opinion "cowboys" could be hostile (not to mention the fact that I despise OSU). Let’s also take the "Sooners" for example. The term "Sooner" is the epitome of hostile. I mean they were cheaters and abused the system by running early. I'm just saying when will it stop? If peta gets involved we may lose all animal names too.

Maddie Withdraws

I am having Maddie withdraws after spending the whole weekend playing and such. We truly did have a great weekend. We went to the church picnic, went and fed Blake and Sadie(pops dogs) a dozen times, and watched Shrek 2 and Shark Tales what seemed like a dozen times. I will post some pictures of the picnic soon. I have only been at work for four hours, but I am sure missing her.

Big Brother 6 (Week 6, Episode 1)

I am completely shocked that Howie put Sarah and James for eviction. I knew that sparks were going to fly this week, but I had no idea that Howie would go for the jugular like he did. James and Sarah had that "deer in the headlights" look on their faces. I am still pulling for Howie I just thought that he would do better with James and Sarah in the house for now. So I guess we will see. I can't wait to see all the reaction to this on Tuesday night.

Howie was entertaining as usual he entered his HOH room saying, "I wanna say congratulations to me!"

The food competition caused me to laugh out loud. What a great concept. It was funny how Janelle played it like she was getting after it even though she was not. The PB&J Pass is defiantly adding some extra laughs to the show this season.

I find it difficult to believe, but I have been blogging here since January of this year and have now reached the 100th post milestone, if you will. This has been an enjoyable experience. Granted some of my first posts were weak to say the least. Okay some of the recent ones have lacked as well. However, I am learning little by little and my interest in writing is beginning to peak some. It is a good release for me. It also provides a channel for me to let my family and friends know what’s going on in my life and in the lives of those closest to me.

Things around here have changed significantly since I begun. I have changed my Template design twice and also added number of other objects and features. I am digging the new look so much better than the old one. I am starting to explore hosting my blog off of Blogger, but haven’t gotten too far. Blogger is cool for now.

I know it is a very eclectic blog, and I am still trying to find my focus. But for now, I am just writing about what is interesting to me, and what is going on around me.

Some people have asked me why I named the blog “The Blogfather”. There are two reasons. Number one I am a father, and I wanted a place to put down my experiences as such. Being that I am new father it just seemed fitting as this is the central theme of who I am right now. Number two, I love the movie The Godfather.

It is officially here. The start of the 2005 football season, and it couldn't come any sooner for me. This also means that today is the start of the long awaited battle for the starting quarterback position at OU. Who will emerge as the starting quarterback for the Sooners? I think that Rhett Bomar will be a great player in his time, but I have to give my nod to the experience that Paul Thompson brings to the table. I think that Paul will provide the type of leadership that can only come from the experience that he has. The rumor mill is grinding on the fact that the third player in the race, Tommy Grady will be transferring after two-a-days. Grady is a great player in his own right, but it will be hard for him to compete with Bomar and Thompson.

The ability level is so high among the three that any could likely step in and play well. The question mark lies in experience and leadership. Grady and Thompson have seen only late-game duty, while Bomar, one of the nation’s top-rated prospects in 2003, has yet to take a college snap.

So while I was on vacation Big Brother 6 took the turn that I was hoping it would. Mr. Meathead aka Cappy aka Eric had the tables turned on him and was sent packing. This development created a split down the middle of the house which has made for some juicy drama in the house this week. Revenge and strategy all mixed up with a thriller of a veto competition. All said, Kaysar and Janelle end up on the block facing eviction Thursday night. I think Kaysar hits the door and I hope that my boy Howie wins HOH.

Palmeiro Busted

As a rule I don't typically comment on things that I'm not polished up on. Today I am breaking that rule. (steps up onto soap box) Let’s take baseball for instance. I hate baseball. I don’t really know why I hate it, but I do. Maybe I have never been able to get over the fact that when my baseball interest was peeking at the age of 14 the players and owners decided that they couldn’t quite get along. Or just maybe it is because it is now acceptable for All-Star games end in a tie. That’s comparable to kissing you sister. Or maybe it is because all of these knuckle-headed steroid addicts can’t admit that they were wrong. At least Jose Canseco has come out and said that he did use. Whatever, I vote that baseball be banned. I would rather watch golf or tiddlywinks than give any of my time or money to baseball. This is a sad scenario considering how much interest I used to have in the game. I know that all sports have their problems, but I am just tired of the way that baseball thinks they can get around all of the rules. Give me a physical break! (steps down from the soapbox)

The film is based on science fiction writer Philip K. Dick's remarkable 1956 short story of the same name. Now, real-life detectives are using computers to predict crimes before they happen.

Minority Report has always been a fovorite of mine this sort of thing is just plain cool.

Michael Wins the first season of Hell's Kitchen

Although vulgar and rude at times Chef Gordon Ramsay stole the show on the summers hit reality show “Hell’s Kitchen”. Tonight was the last episode of the inaugural season, the show was a humdinger. Two hours may have been a bit too long. However, the episode was entertaining none-the-less. It was interesting to watch how the contestants interacted with the old contestants who were brought back to work for them. I have been rooting for Michael all season and was thrilled to see him win it all. I know I could never work in a kitchen like that, but I love to cook so I found the show intriguing. I like the shows twist on so-called food shows. It was a break from the typical FOX summer reality shows like “Eden” or “Temptation Island” or “Joe Millionaire”. I do anticipate that there will be another season, and I will be there ready to take pleasure in more of Ramsay’s chastising of the aspiring chefs.

Swinging the weekend away...

As mentioned before I spent hours and hours a few weeks ago putting up a swing set for Maddie. She absolutely loves to play on it. I think she brought us her shoes about fifteen times this weekend wanting for us to take her outside and play on it. I have to admit she is somewhat spoiled. On at least 13 of those 15 occurrences we did submit and take her outside. We are well trained parents you know. I sure did miss her as I was out of town last weekend. She was sick while I was gone too, so all the more reason to spoil her this weekend.

Why do I do this to myself!

It seems like every time I take a Vacation it leaves me asking myself the same basic question. Why do I live in Oklahoma? I mean come on now NO Mountains and NO Ocean... WHY ME! Oh well, I guess that’s life. Oklahoma does have its advantages, like Sooner Football and some pretty good fishing and hunting.

The Colorado Trip was memorable and relaxing; we left on a Friday afternoon spent that night in the RV at a truck stop in Walsenburg, CO.

Saturday: After running the RV out of oil and being stalled on the side of the road for at least an hour, we did finally arrive at the Alvarado campgrounds around noon on Saturday. We set camp and headed back into town to get the RV looked at which took up the rest of our Saturday... bummer.

Sunday: Sunday was a true day of rest. We didn't do much just relax and finish setting up camp to get ready for the rest of the group to roll in that evening. We did take some trail rides on the four-wheeler and the dirt bike up into the mountains. It is beautiful up there. The rest of the group did get in at about 11:30 Sunday night.

Monday: Monday morning was time for a show now that the rest of the group was there that meant that we had another vehicle that we were able to use so we went into town and took a good shower. The best $5 I spent all week. The rest of the day was more of the same relaxing playing a little hearts, kicking it by the campfire, and eating way too much.

Tuesday: Tuesday was by far the most exciting day for me on the trip. We went white water rafting on the Arkansas River through the Royal Gorge. The first thing we had to do was pick up one last member of the group at the airport then it was off to the Gorge to do some sightseeing. That is where I took these pictures. Echo Canyon Adventures was our Guide service, and they did a great job. I have been rafting there before, but only we only did the Big Horn Sheep Canyon which is the kiddie run with only class 1 and 2 rapids. The Royal Gorge was running at 1200 cubic feet per second that day. The rapids were all class 3 and 4. The Gorge gave me everything I wanted. I didn’t fall out, but there was one time when the water came up to the middle of my chest and I thought I was going down. We had a great guide who was very knowledgeable and made the ride interesting. I have to admit I was a little sore after it was over, but it was well worth it. We had BBQ that night and I gave devotion by the fire.

Wednesday: Horseback riding for the group, which I was completely uninterested in! So we shuttled the two groups that were going back and forth to town when it wasn’t their turn. Had fun looking around town, bought gifts for the wife and Maddie. We ate some delicious Ice Cream in downtown Westcliffe. I had Mint Chocolate Chip to be exact. Hobo dinners and a good devotion by the fire that night.

Thursday: Break camp and on the road by 10:00 am. After some short setbacks due to car trouble we rolled into the city around 10:30 that night. It was an excellent trip as always, the boys all had a good time, and everyone made it through safe and sound.

Vijay too much for Tiger!

The Buick Open was interesting to say the least. Vijay Singh pulled it out, as Tiger Woods was making an impressive comeback attempt on Sunday. It was great fun to watch and hope for miracles from Tiger, but it was just too little too late. Two weeks to the PGA Championship, the last major of the year. Can Tiger make it three for the year? I guess we will see.

It’s official — after months of going by the codename “Longhorn,” the next-generation Windows operating system has been dubbed “Windows Vista.” It sounds like a spa resort in the mountains, but the name was apparently inspired to “bring clarity to your world.” IT professionals and developers will be able to get their hands on the first beta of the new OS from August 3rd, and Microsoft hopes to introduce a commercial version next year (though we’re not holding our breath considering how long the development took)

That's right by a vote of 9 to 1 Michael, the obnoxious artist originally from Europe found himself headed for the door after Tuesday nights episode of Big Brother6. I am personally sad to see him go. In the last episode Michael made for some great TV by egging on the beefed up, pinheaded, firefighter Eric. We all thought we were watching the WWE before we even knew it. Don't you know that the producers were giving themselves high fives when all this was going down. Everyone loves a good fight, and It's just too bad that Michael won't be in the house to stir up the pot.

Tonight's episode did focus on the relationship between Michael and (Little Miss Piggy) Janelle. I guess she is good looking, but I can't get past that snout. Give me a break with the cheesy have you seen spiderman line. In my opinion Big Brother showed way too much kissing between these two. At some point I was hoping that they would realize that we get the point, they like each other. No we had to watch them swap spit over and over again.

Kaysar wins the Head of Household competiton, so this week should be interesting. I hope he goes after Eric. So far my favorite character in the house is Howie. Is this guy for real, he is cracking me up.

I can't wait to get on the road to Colorado tomorrow afternoon. We are going to leave around three tomorrow and will be back on next Thursday. I love Colorado in the summer. It sure beats the heck out of this 100 degree Oklahoma weather.

I have a lot to do before I leave. Take a test, mow the lawn, watch Big Brother, finish packing, sleep, work, etc.

This Advertisement for the new Honda Accord was shot in real time with no CGI involved in the sequence. It required 606 takes and cost $6 million to shoot.

I am sure that this Ad took a lot of time and money, and I can see why. I can't believe that there were no special effects involved. Here's a big hat tip to Honda. This is the best commercial I have ever seen!
